"Sarkate Ka Aatank" (literally "Sarkate Ka Aatank") is a 2024 Hindi-language comedy-horror film directed by Amar Kaushik and written by Niren Bhatt, co-produced by Maddock Films and Jio Studios. It is the fourth installment in Maddock's supernatural universe and the sequel to "Stree" (2018). Starring Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshakti Khurana, the film tells the story of a group of friends who try to defeat Sarkata, a ruthless village headman who has kidnapped the women of Chanderi. The development of a sequel was announced to Stree in October 2018. Vijan left, leaving Bart as the writer. Dinesh Vijan and Jyoti Deshpande announced the sequel in April 2023. It is expected to be completed by mid-2024. The music for the first album is composed by Sachinä Jigar, while the background score is by Justin Varghese. Cinematography and editing are by Jishnu Bhattacharjee and Hemanti Sarkar, respectively. The film grossed over 874.58 billion rupees ($100 million) at the worldwide box office, making it the third-highest-grossing film in India and the highest-grossing Indian film of 2024. It also became the sixth-highest-grossing film in India. and the 11th-highest-grossing Indian film.
